PETROGLYPHS AND PICTOGRAPHS OF THE UNITED SATES (and beyond)
Dr. Melvyn Mosher
Dr. Mosher will be
talking about petroglyphs and pictographs of the united sates. Petroglyphs are
designs "carved" into rock by either pecking or by scraping (the difference
between these two styles is clearly visible in the look of the glyph), while
pictographs are designs "painted" on to the rock surface (in some case the
design was painted on the rock with a brush while in other cases the paint was
applied by spraying). Click
here for a complete summary of Dr. Mosher's talk.
