What Does It Take To Be A Judge?
An understanding of the scientific method and a willingness to talk to students about the work they have performed is critical. You do not have to have a career in science, but a strong interest in the science/math education process and a wish to reinforce the students' pursuit of research and knowledge is necessary.

Interested in chairing your judging committee? Chair duties include: meet with and organize members of the judging team; assure that all students in category are equitably judged and no child is excluded; lead discussion to determine placement winners in category; record names of all placement winners, assuring that all names are spelled correctly; and, complete all required paperwork and return all forms to OSEF Judge Coordinator. 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM |
Judge Registration (includes a light meal) |
| 5:30 PM | Category chairs meet with judging team | |
| 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM | Judging of Exhibits with students present | |
| 9:30 PM | All judging results must be returned to fair officials | |
| 9:00 PM | Grand Award judges register with fair officials | |
| 9:30 PM - 11:30 PM | Grand Award judges review projects and make selections | |
| 11:30 PM | Grand Award selection returned to fair officials | |
| 11:30 PM to 12:00 Midnight | ISEF forms reviewed and signed by SRC officials | |
