• The registration fee for every team is $125. JETS will offer an “early-bird” discount of 10% to all schools/groups who register by October 31 via JETS website (www.jets.org/teams). Registration will open in September. Missouri State University will be the host for this competition on March 6, 2010
• There will be two levels of competition (Varsity and Junior Varsity Levels will NO LONGER be used).
1. 9th/10th grade level 2. 11th/12th grade level The basic theme (Water, Water, Everywhere) and scenarios will be the same but the questions posed will be altered per the academic grade level; however questions will remain academically challenging. 9th/10th level teams may opt to participate in the 11th/12th level but will compete using those questions and scored within that level.
• The scoring structure will change and ALL teams will have Part 2 scored.
o Local awards will be determined using Part 1 scores. o "Best in State" awards will be given by JETS for the first time! The team with the highest scoring Part 1 in each state and level will receive an award. o "Best Overall" awards will be given by JETS to two teams this year. The highest ranking national score (Part 1 plus Part2) in each level will receive a cash prize and trophy. o "Best Overall" 11th/12th grade team will win an all-expense paid trip to Disney World in Orlando to participate in their Disney Y.E.S. program. Each team member and one coach will receive a 3-day park hopper pass and choice of Y.E.S. program to experience Disney engineering! o NEW State rankings and awards will be determined using Part 1 scores (plaques or banners will be awarded by JETS). o National rankings and awards will be determined by combining Part 1 and Part 2 scores. This will be a team’s National score.
